September 30:  

1981-The Fort Lauderdale Strikers open a six-game European tour with a 2-2- tie against Norwich City.

1990-Peter Vermes scores two goals to give the U.S. National Team a 2-0 win over the MLS Select team at St. Louis Soccer Park.

1995-A CISL record 16,427 fans pack Reunion Arena to witness the Dallas Sidekicks’ 8-5 victory over the Las Vegas Dustdevils.

2006-Josh Wolff scores a goal and assists on two others as the Kansas City Wizards play Real Salt Lake to a wild 3-3 draw at Arrowhead Stadium.

2006-Peter Vagenas, Landon Donovan and Alan Gordon score as the Los Angeles Galaxy rout a depleted Chivas USA squad 3-0.

2007-Abby Wambach scores a goal in each half and Lori Chalupny and Heather O’Reilly also find the back of the net as the United States secures a 4-1 win over Norway in the third-place match of the Women's World Cup in Shanghai, China.

2007- The LA Galaxy score two goals in three minutes, and hold on for their season-high third win in a row, 2-1 over the Columbus Crew at Crew Stadium.

 2009-Jeff Cunningham scores the only goal in a 1-0 FC Dallas win over the New England Revolution at the Cotton Bowl.

2012-The LA Galaxy's four-game winning streak comes to an end at Dick's Sporting Goods Park, as they play to a 1-1- draw with the Colorado Rapids.

2015-Krisztian Nemeth scores the 1-1 equalizer and Jordi Quintilla buries an eighth-round penalty kick to give Sporting Kansas City their third Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup crown, 7-6 in PKs over the Philadelphia Union at PPL Park. It is the second straight year that the Union took the Cup final to extratime on its home turf only to wind up on the losing end.

2016- Francisca Ordega scores in the 111th minute to give the Washington Spirit a 2-1 overtime win over the Chicago Red Stars in an NWSL Semifinal game at the Maryland SoccerPlex.

2016-David Villa scores two second-half goals as New York City FC blanks the Houston Dynamo 2-0  at BBVA Compass Stadium.
