September 15:

1968-Pete Millar scores two goals and Willie Roy adds one as the United States plays to s 3-3 draw with Israel in front of 10,118 at Yankee Stadium

1970-Pelé sets up three goals as Santos defeats a North American Soccer League All-Star team in front of 13,222 at Soldier Field.

1977-Milan Mandaric, the former owner of the San Jose Earthquakes, purchases the Connecticut Bicentennials and announces the team will move to Oakland and renamed the Stompers.

1977-Greg Miller scores in the 82nd minute to give the U.S. a 2-1 win over El Salvador in San Salvador.

1978-The US Men's National Team plays to a 1-1 draw with Koninklijke S.C. in Antwerp, Belgium.

1983-Neil Roberts scores the only goal as the Toronto Blizzard eliminate the Vancouver Whitecaps from the NASL playoffs with a 1-0 win at B.C. Place.

1990-Peter Vermes, Bruce Murray and Eric Eichmann score as the U.S. defeats Trinidad & Tobago in a friendly at A.J. Simeon Stadium in High Point, NC.

 1995-Thompson Usiyan scores six goals in the San Jose Grizzlies' 13-3 win over the Portland Pride.

2000-Dema Kovalenko scores the game winner as the Chicago Fire defeats the New England Revolution in the first game of the MLS playoffs.

2007- Pat Noonan scores two goals as the New England Revolution soundly defeat  F.C. Dallas 4-2  at Gillette Stadium.

2007- Toronto FC's scoreless streak stretches to 822 minutes of play dating back to July 7 with a 0-0 draw against Real Salt Lake in front of 20,098 at BMO Field.

2008-The first step in putting together the Women's Professional Soccer franchise for Los Angeles is made with the hiring of Abner Rogers as the team's head coach.

2009-The Philadelphia Independence select seven players and the Atlanta Beat six in the Women's Professional Soccer expansion draft.

2010- Chris Wondolowski scores in the 69th minute, and goalkeeper Jon Busch comes up with five saves to help the San Jose Earthquakes defeat the Philadelphia Union 1-0  at Buck Shaw Stadium.

2012- Chris Pontius scores the equalizer for DC United and assisted on Lewis Neal's second-half game-winner, while Bill Hamid comes up with series of late saves to preserve a 2-1 victory over the New England Revolution at RFK Stadium.

2013- A goal by Yaikel Perez in the 58th minute lifts the Fort Lauderdale Strikers to 1-1 draw with FC Edmonton at Clarke Stadium, extending their unbeaten streak to five games.

2015-The U.S. Women's National Team celebrates Heather O'Reilly's farewell game with a 9-0 victory over Thailand at MAPFRE Stadium.
