1972-Mexico goes unbeaten in North American zone World Cup qualifying, defeating the United States 2-1 in front of 13,885 at the LA Coliseum.
1980-Giorgio Chinaglia's 13th goal of the playoffs lifts the New York Cosmos to a 2-1 win over the Los Angeles Aztecs in game one of their NASL Conference Finals at the Rose Bowl.
1981-The Chicago Sting score three late goals to defeat the Montreal Manic 4-2 and take their NASL quarterfinal series two games to one.
1982-For the second straight game, Kenny Hibbitt scores in overtime, lifting the Seattle Sounders to a 1-0 win over the Fort Lauderdale Strikers at the Kingdome, sending them to the Soccer Bowl.

2011- Chris Wondolowski scores the game winner, assists on another goal and has a penalty kick stopped as the San Jose Earthquakes snap a 13- game winless streak with a 2-0 win over the Chicago Fire at Buck Shaw Stadium .
2013- Landon Donovan sets up the first goal by Eddie Johnson and scores the second goal as the United States defeats Mexico in a World Cup qualifier 2-0 for the fourth straight time at Columbus Crew Stadium.
2014- Pedro Morales snaps Vancouver Whitecaps FCs 450-minute scoring drought from the penalty spot in the 39th minute, as the Caps shut out the San Jose Earthquakes 2-0 at BC Place.
2016- Sky Blue FC gets second half goals from Sam Kerr and Maya Hayes to defeat the Orlando Pride 2-1 at Camping World Stadium. Kristen Edmonds had given the Pride a 1-0 first half lead.
