October 25:

1931-Racing Madrid defeat the Newark Portuguese 3-1.

1936-The Maccabees of Tel-Aviv defeat a team of Chicago All Stars 1-0 in front of 20,000 at Comiskey Park. Louis Fisher makes 22 saves, and the only goal is scored on a penalty kick by Gaoul Machlis.

1980-The United States and Canada play to a 0-0 draw in a World Cup qualifier at Lockhart Stadium.

1985-Mark Karpun registers a hat trick to lead the Dallas Sidekicks to a 7-5 win over the Los Angeles Lazers at The Forum.

1985-Drago Dumbovic scores his second goal of the game 5:11 into overtime to give the Minnesota Strikers a 6-5 win over the Tacoma Stars in front of a club record 8,413 at The Met.

1996- Zoran Karic's 10 points leads the Cleveland Crunch over visiting Toronto 18-7 before 11,890 fans.

1996-Victor Nogueira makes 17 saves to lead the Milwaukee Wave to a 10-5 win over the Kansas City Attack.

 1997-Matt Knowles' overtime goal carries the Philadelphia KiXX over the Baltimore Blast 21-19. Knowles scores 11 points, including six assists.

1998-Jerzy Podbrozny and Diego Gutierrez score 16 minutes apart as the Chicago Fire dethrone two- time champion D.C. United to win MLS Cup 2-0 before 51,530 fans at the Rose Bowl.

 1998-Mark Thomas scores the first goal in Florida Thundercats history at 2:21 of the second quarter in the expansion team's 14-10 loss in Montreal to the Impact.

 2002-Nate Houser has a hat trick and Nino DaSilva adds a pair of goals as the Kansas City Comets defeat  the Baltimore Blast 17-12 at 1st Mariner Arena.

2007- Chris Rolfe scores the only goal to give the Chicago Fire a 1-0 win over DC United in front of 17,834 at Toyota Park in the first game of their two-game total-goals playoff series.

2008- Real Salt Lake clinches their first ever spot in the MLS playoffs thanks to a last minute goal by Yura Movsisyan in a 1-1 draw with the Colorado Rapids at Rio Tinto Stadium.

2009- The New England Revolution clinch their eighth straight visit to the MLS Cup playoffs after beating the Columbus Crew 1-0  n front of a Crew Stadium crowd of 16,797.

2014- Marco Pappa comes off the bench to score two late goals as Seattle Sounders FC pull out a dramatic 2-0 victory  over the visiting LA Galaxy to claim MLS's regular-season championship.

2015- Alex Morgan and Crystal Dunn score  first half goals, and newcomer Stephanie McCaffrey adds one in the second half as the U.S. Women's National Team defeats Brazil 3-1 in front of 32,869 fans at the Citrus Bowl, the largest stand-alone crowd to watch a USWNT friendly in the state of Florida.

2015- The New York Red Bulls capture their second MLS Supporters Shield in three years with a 2-1 win over the Chicago Fire at Toyota Park.

2016- The Tampa Bay Rowdies announce they will leave the North American Soccer League to join the United Soccer League.
