October 10: 

1926--Jimmy Galloway scores two goals, as Canadian Champions Toronto Ulster United play  to a 4-4 draw with Sparta A.C. of Prague in front of 15,000 at Chicago's Soldier Field.

1977--Fred Pereira scores the only goal as the United States defeats the People's Republic of China 1-0 in front of 15,003 at Atlanta Stadium.

1981-Victor Brasshy scores in the 75th minute to give Rodos a 2-1 win over the Fort Lauderdale Strikers, the third straight loss of their European tour.

1981-Giorgio Chinaglia scores three goals to lead the New York Cosmos to a 6-2 win over Valur Football Club in Reykjavic, Iceland.

2004-Cindy Parlow scores two goals and Mia Hamm has a goal and an assist as the USWNT routs New Zealand 6-0 in front of 18,806 at Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati.

2008-Real Salt Lake debuts Rio Tinto Stadium with a 1-1 draw with the New York Red Bulls.

2009-Justin Braun and Sacha Kljestan score within two minutes of each other to give Chivas USA a 2-0 win over the Kansas City Wizards, as well as a berth in their fourth straight MLS postseason at the Home Depot Center.

2009-Cornell Glen scores in the fourth minute of stoppage time to pull the San Jose Earthquakes into a 1-1 draw with Toronto FC silencing the crowd of 20,571  at BMO Field .

2009-Conor Casey scores twice and set up Landon Donovan as the United States qualifies for the 2010 World Cup with a 3-2 win over Honduras in San Pedro Sula.

2014-Graham Zusi has a goal and an assist, and scoring ace Dom Dwyer atones for a missed early penalty kick with the stoppage-time capper as Sporting Kansas City book their passage to the MLS Cup playoffs with a 2-0 win over the Chicago Fire, their first home victory since August 16.

2014-Kekuta Manneh scores the only goal of the game as Vancouver Whitecaps FC move back into fifth place in the MLS West with a 1-0 win over league-leading Seattle Sounders FC in front of 55,765 at CenturyLink Field.

2014- Landon Donovan makes his final appearance for the United States, a 1-1 draw with  Ecuador in an international friendly at Rentschler Stadium .

2015-  Mexico scores twice in extra time to capture a 3-2 win over the United States at the Rose Bowl  and earn a place in the 2017 Confederations Cup. Paul Aguilar scored the game winner on a stunning strike in the 118th minute.

2015-Minnesota United extends its unbeaten run to eleven and secures its place in the postseason with a 2-1 victory over the Fort Lauderdale Strikers   at NSC Stadium. 

2015-The United States misses an opportunity to book a spot at the 2016 Olympics, dropping a 2-0 semifinal decision to Honduras in the CONCACAF Men's Olympic Qualifying Championship at Rio Tinto Stadium.
