November 11, 

1968-With an own goal and a strike by Willie Roy, the United States wins its preliminary group in World Cup qualifying with a 2-0 win over Bermuda in Hamilton.

1969-The Dallas Tornado plays FC Mechele to a 1-1 draw in Belgium.

1977-Negotiations to sell Team Hawaii to a Milwaukee group break off, leaving the team in limbo.

1977-A Montreal group says it has reached agreement to use Olympic Stadium, and expects to be awarded an NASL expansion franchise.

1981-Thomas Werblin is named general manager of the New York Cosmos, replacing Krikor Yepremian.

1984-South Florida ends Indiana University's unbeaten streak at 46 games with a 3-1 win in the South Florida Classic in Tampa.

1984-Michael Collins scores two goals to lead the Baltimore Blast to a 6-4 win over the Cleveland Force at Baltimore Arena.

1984-Juli Veee scores twice and goalkeeper Keith van Eron scores in a 5-3 Las Vegas Americans win over the San Diego Sockers at the Thomas and Mack Center.

1988-The Met Center in Minneapolis says it has reached an agreement for the Fort Lauderdale Strikers to play their indoor games at the arena.

1989 -Tim Wittman's three goals lead the way as the Baltimore Blast crushed the Wichita Wings 9-3 at the Kansas Coliseum.

1990-Chico Borja registers a hat trick in the Wichita Wings 7-4 loss to the Baltimore Blast at the Baltimore Arena.

1993-A Washington, DC franchise joins the Continental Indoor Soccer League.

1995 -The Tampa Bay Terror's Bojan Vuckovic scores  seven two-point goals against the Cleveland Crunch, who still manage to salvage a 23-22 win at the CSU Convocation Center.

1995- The St. Louis Ambush win their home opener 9-7 over the Chicago Power, in front of 13,417 fans.

1995-The Harrisburg Heat defeat  the Baltimore Spirit 17-10 before a standing-room crowd of 7,849 at the Farm Show Arena.

2000-The Milwaukee Wave use  11 consecutive goals and 7 points from Matt Tirschman (1-2-0-0) to defeat the Edmonton Drillers, 20-4 at the Bradley Center.

2006- Major League Soccers Board of Governors approves changes in the league's compensation structure, in effect adding the so-called Beckham (Designated Player) rule exception which will allow teams to sign star players and not have their salary count against the salary cap.
 
2007-David Beckham sets up Edson Buddle's goal and the Los Angeles Galaxy defeat the USL's Minnesota Thunder in a shootout in front of 20,123 at the Metrodome.

2008- Gary Smith, who served as the Colorado Rapids interim coach for the final 11 matches of the season is been named the club's new head coach.

2011- The United States falls to  France, 1-0, before a near-capacity crowd of 70,018 fans at Stade de France, making the U.S. 1-4-1 under Jurgen Klinsmann.

 2012- The Houston Dynamo get second half goals from Andre Hainault, Will Bruin and Kofi Sarkodie  to defeat DC United 3-1 in the opening match of the Eastern Conference Championship series at BBVA Compass Stadium.

2012-
Robbie Keane leads the way with two goals and an assist to lead the LA Galaxy to a 3-0 rout of the Seattle Sounders FC 3-0 in the first-leg of the MLS West Conference finals at the Home Depot Center.

2016-  Rafa Marquez scores the game-winner in the 89th minute to boost Mexico to a 2-1 triumph over the U.S. in a World Cup qualifier before a capacity crowd of 24,650 at MAPFRE Stadium.
