 November 3: 

1931-Police are called in to break up a near riot as New York Hakoah defeat visiting Racing Club of Madrid 3-1 at Commercial Field in New York.

1968-The Washington Darts extend their unbeaten streak to seven American Soccer League games with a 4-0 win over the Rochester Lancers.

1968-Pete Millar scores three goals as the United States defeats Bermuda 6-2 in a World Cup qualifier at Municipal Stadium in Kansas City.

1978-Diego Maradona scores two goals as the Argentine Youth National Team defeats the New York Cosmos 2-1 in Tucuman, Argentina.

1983-A new soccer league, the American Indoor Soccer Association, announces plans to start in November 1984 utilizing only American players.

1985-ESPN broadcasts the first of 15 regular season MISL games as the Minnesota Strikers defeat the Baltimore Blast 4-3

1989-Brent Goulet scores three goals to lead the Tacoma Stars to a 5-1 win over the Cleveland Crunch

1995-The Buffalo Blizzard's Gino DiFlorio gets his 700th regular-season career point in a 13-12 win over Canton.

1995-Eloy Selgado's shootout goal with 6:28 to play gives the Milwaukee Wave a 9-8 home win over Kansas City before 12,216 fans.

1996-Rookie 'keeper Peter Pappas makes 20 saves to help the Philadelphia KiXX improve to 4-0 with a 15-14 win over Tampa Bay.

2002-Don D'Ambra scores the game-winning goal after just eight seconds of overtime as the visiting Philadelphia KiXX edge the Harrisburg Heat 6-4. It was the lowest-scoring Heat game in the history of Farm Show Arena.

2002-Sipho Sibiya scores twice as the Milwaukee Wave steamroll the Cleveland Force 17-4 in front of 6,019 at the Bradley Center.

2004-In her final game, Mia Hamm scores her world-record 158th international goal 51 seconds into stoppage time to help the USWNT salvage a 1-1 draw with Denmark in front of 18,885 spectators at Giants Stadium .

2007-The Kansas City Wizards advance to the MLS Western Conference final after holding Chivas USA to a 0-0 draw in front of 19,711 at The Home Depot Center.

2007-Milwaukee Wave rookie Deco sends a hard right-footer past netminder Tony Meola at 13:21 of the second overtime to send the New Jersey Ironmen to the first loss of their debut MISL season, 10-8  in front of 4,510 at US Cellular Arena.

2007-Brian Ching scores two goals to lead the Houston Dynamo to a 4-1 overtime win over short-handed FC Dallas at Robertson Stadium. The Dynamo advance to the MLS Western Conference final on a 4-2 aggregate.

2011-Brian Ching scores just before the half time whistle to give the Houston Dynamo a 1-0 win over the Philadelphia Union and a 3-1 aggregate win in the MLS Eastern Conference semifinal series.

2011-The Chicago Fire name  Frank Klopas Head Coach, removing the interim tag he has had since taking over the team from Carlos de los Cobos at the end of May.

2012-DC United and the New York Red Bulls trade  own goals within a three-minute span of the second half on their way to a 1-1 draw in the first leg of their Eastern Conference semifinal series at RFK Stadium.

2012-The Montreal Impact and head coach Jesse Marsch have what the team terms an "amicable parting of the ways."

2013- The Houston Dynamo rally from two goals down to tie the New York Red Bulls 2-2 in the first leg of their MLS East semifinal set at BBVA Compass Stadium.
