1967-The Chicago Spurs and Philadelphia Spartans play to a 0-0 draw in front of 879 fans in 100,000-seat Soldier Field.

1968-New York Generals General Manager Bill Bergesch calls for an experimental repeal of the offside rule.

1968-Willie Roy scores three goals as the Kansas City Spurs defeat the Dallas Tornado 6-1 at Municipal Stadium.

1976-Just two days after signing, Eusebio scores two goals to lead Toronto Metros Croatia to a 4-1 rout of the Hartford Bicentennials.

1976-Steve Peplow's second goal of the game, in overtime, gives the Chicago Sting a 2-1 win over the New York Cosmos in front of 28,436 in their home opener at Yankee Stadium.

1978-Alan Ball scores two unassisted goals in the Philadelphia Fury's 3-1 win over the Fort Lauderdale Strikers at Veterans Stadium.

1982-Jeff Bourne and Kim Roentved score three goals each and Terry Nicholl ties a league playoff record with four assists as the Wichita Wings defeat the Memphis Americans 12-5 to advance to the MISL semifinals.

1999-Shannon MacMillan and Danielle Fotopoulos each score two goals as the U.S. routs Japan 7-0  in front of 14,652 at DeKalb Memorial Stadium in Clarkston, Ga.

2008-David Beckham scores two goals in a four-minute span to lift the Los Angeles Galaxy to a 2-2 draw with Real Salt Lake in front of a Rice-Eccles Stadium crowd of 25,500.

2009-Stuart Holden and Brian Ching score  to give the Houston Dynamo their first road win of the season, 2-0 over the New England Revolution at Gillette Stadium.

2009-Daniela scores twice for Saint Louis Athletica, but the Washington Freedom's Sonia Bompastor also scores a pair as the teams play to a 3-3 draw at the Maryland Soccerplex.

2012-Summer Green has five goals, including four in the first half, and Margaret Purce adds three goals and an assist as the U.S. Under-17 Women's National Team defeat  the Bahamas 10-0  in their opening game of the CONCACAF U-17 Women's Championship at Estadio Cementos Progreso.

2014-Joao Plata fuels Real Salt Lake's  comeback with two goals, including the stoppage time game-winner in a  3-2 decision over the Chicago Fire at Toyota Park.

2014-Jaime Chavez has a goal and an assist to lead the Atlanta Silverbacks to a 2-1 win over the Ottawa Fury at Silverbacks Park.

2014-Sydney Leroux registers her first goal of the season to give Seattle Reign FC a 2-1 come from behind win over the Washington Spirit in front of 4,667 at the Maryland Soccerplex.

2016-Obafemi Martins leads the way with two goals as Seattle Sounders FC defeat New York City FC 3-1 in front of 25,384 at Yankee Stadium, extending the expansion team's winless streak to seven games.
