1927-Maccabees of Palestine defeat Galicia F.C. of Brooklyn 3-0 at Hawthorne Field.

1976-Alan Willey registers a hat trick to lead the Minnesota Kicks to s a 4-0 win over the San Diego Sockers in front of 30,988 at Metropolitan Stadium.

1976-Stewart Scullion's hat trick leads the Tampa Bay Rowdies to a 4-1 win over the Miami Toros.

1982-The Major Indoor Soccer League's Denver Avalanche files for bankruptcy.

1982-Playing before their smallest crowd in five years, 10,693, the Tampa Bay Rowdies fall to Ipswich Town F.C.  3-1.

1992-Joe-Max Moore scores as the United States falls to Italy 2-1 in an Olympic game in Barcelona.

1996-Brian Maisonneuve scores in a 1-1 United States draw with Portugal in an Olympic contest played at R.F.K. Stadium in Washington.

1997-Tatu registers one goal and six assists in the Dallas Sidekicks' 9-4 win over the Arizona Sandsharks

2004-Chelsea opens the ChampionsWorld series with an impressive 4-2 win over Scottish champs Celtic at Qwest Field in Seattle, Wash.

2004-Bob Bradley becomes the first MLS coach to reach 100 wins after the NY/NJ MetroStars defeat Chicago 2-1 at Giants Stadium.

2005-Goalkeeper Kasey Keller holds Panama scoreless for 120 minutes and saves one of four penalty kicks as the United States edges Panama 3-1 in a penalty kick shootout after playing to a scoreless tie to capture their third CONCACAF Gold Cup title at Giants Stadium.

2005-Danielle Fotopoulos strikes for a pair of goals in a two-minute span to lead the United States WNT to a 3-0 victory over Iceland in an international friendly at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.

2007-A disputed second half goal lifts Chivas Guadalajara to a 1-1 draw with FC Dallas in the opening match of the inaugural CONCACAF SuperLiga at Pizza Hut Park.

2007-Landon Donovan scores the game winning goal, giving the David Beckham-less Los Angeles Galaxy a 2-1 win over Pachuca in SuperLiga play at the Home Depot Center.

2008-A BMO Field record crowd of 20,844 sees the MLS All-Stars defeat West Ham United 3-2.  Chicago Fire standout Cuauhtémoc Blanco scores a goal and sets up another to earn MVP honors.

2009-Stuart Holden sets up goals by Clarence Goodson and Kenny Cooper to lead the USA to a 2-0 win over Honduras in the first semifinal match of the CONCACAF Gold Cup.

2009-In what both coaches described as an advanced final, Costa Rica and Mexico battle for 120 minutes before El Tri prevails 5-3 in penalty kicks to win their Gold Cup semifinal at Soldier Field.

2011-Manchester City defeats the Los Angeles Galaxy 7-6 in penalty kicks after the two teams play to a 1-1 draw at The Home Depot Center

2012-The LA Galaxy came back to tie EPL club Tottenham Hotspur 1-1 on a 28th-minute goal by David Junior Lopes at the Home Depot Center.

2012-The Portland Timbers rally twice in the second half on goals by forward Sebastián Rincón and midfielder Rodney Wallace to pull level with Aston Villa FC, but the English Premier League side prevails 5-4 in penalty-kicks to claim the win in an international friendly before a sellout crowd of 20,438 at JELD-WEN Field.

2012-The Colorado Rapids taste victory for the first time since June 30, edging English club Swansea City 2-1 in front of a sparse crowd at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.

2012-The Montreal Impact play Olympique Lyonnais to a 1-1 draw in front of a record crowd of 19,225 at Stade Saputo, but fall 4-2 in penalties in their first international match since joining MLS.

2012-Emanuel Herra scores two goals after Gaetan Charbonnier nets the game-winner as Ligue 1 champions Montpellier Herault SC defeat Sporting Kansas City 3-0 at Livestrong Sporting Park.

2013-The New York Red Bulls sign English attacker Bradley Wright-Phillips.

2013-The New York Cosmos drop a 2-1 decision to Leyton Orient in a preseason friendly at the Matchroom Stadium in London.

2013-Landon Donovan scores two goals and adds an assist to help lead the United States Men’s National Team to a 3-1 victory over Honduras in a Gold Cup semifinal matchup at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

2013-FC Kansas City extends its unbeaten streak to eight games with 3-0 win over the Boston Breakers in front of 5,024 fans at Verizon Wireless Field.

2014-New York City FC introduces former Chelsea star midfielder Frank Lampard as the fourth player signed to its inaugural MLS roster.

2014-Olmes Garcia leads the way with two goals and Javier Morales contributes two assists as Real Salt Lake defeats the Montreal Impact 3-1 at Rio Tinto Stadium.

2014-Alejandro Dominguez, Dimitri Diamantakos and Andreas Bouchalakis score to lead Olympiakos to a 3-0 win over AC Milan at in front of 10,603 at BMO Field in the opening game of the Guinness International Champions Cup.

2016-Bradley Wright-Phillips leads the way with two goals as the New York Red Bulls thrash New York City FC 4-1 in a Hudson River Derby match at sold-out Red Bull Arena.
