1930-New York Hakoah play Santos to a 2-2 draw in their seventh and final game in Brazil before heading to Argentina.

1968- Santos make their second appearance of the year at Yankee Stadium, this time being upset by the New York Generals 5-3, only their fifth loss in 61 games in 1968. A crowd of 15,645 sees Pelé held scoreless.

1975-Ace Ntsoelengoe and Mike Flater each score two goals to lead the Denver Dynamos to a 5-2 win over the St. Louis Stars.

1978-With a 3-1 win at Giants Stadium, the New England Tea Men snap the New York Cosmos' 28-game-home winning streak.

1979-After opening with a pair of wins over the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico, the United States is shut out for the second straight game, 5-0 by Cuba to close out the Pan Am Games with a 2-2 record.

1980-The Seattle Sounders win their eighth straight game, 5-0 over the Toronto Blizzard on the strength of Jack Brand's 14th shutout of the season in front of 34,356 at the Kingdome.

1981-Julio Cesar Romero and defender Jeff Durgan score as the New York Cosmos defeat Glasgow Celtic 2-0 in a Trans Atlantic Challenge Cup game at Giants Stadium.

2001-Brandi Chastain sets a WUSA record with three assists in the San Jose CyberRays' 3-2 victory over the Washington Freedom at RFK Stadium.

2005- The U.S. closes out Group B play  in the   CONCACAF Gold Cup with a tough 0-0 draw against  Costa Rica at Gillette Stadium as Kasey Keller posts his 12th shutout in 18 all-time Gold Cup appearances.

2007- The Houston Dynamo extend  their unbeaten streak to nine games with a 4-0 win over the Chicago Fire in front of a sellout crowd of 20,034 at Toyota Park.

2008--For the first time in franchise history, Real Salt Lake takes over first place in the MLS West with a 2-0 shutout win over the Columbus Crew in front of 12,378 at Rice-Eccles Stadium.

2009-Cristiane records the first hat trick in Women’s Professional Soccer history,  helping the Chicago Red Stars to a 3-1 win over FC Gold Pride in front of 5,127 at Toyota Park.

2010-The Major Indoor Soccer League grants an expansion franchise for the 2010-11 season to the Kansas City Metropolitan area for the Comets, who will play their home games at the Independence Events Center.

2011-The Richmond Kickers knock off their second straight Major League Soccer team in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, defeating Sporting Kansas City 2-0 at Livestrong Sporting Park.

2012-The North American Soccer League announces that the New York Cosmos have joined the league and will begin league play in the 2013 season.

2014- Bradley Wright-Phillips continues his scoring binge with his sixth goal in as many games, and Thierry Henry adds a goal and three assists to give the New York Red Bulls a 4-1 victory over the Columbus Crew.

2014- The expansion Indy Eleven opens up its NASL Fall Season with its first win in league play, capturing a 2-1 victory over the Carolina RailHawks at WakeMed Soccer Park.

2014- Melissa Tancredi scores her first National Women's Soccer League goal to give the Chicago Red Stars a 1-0 win while snapping the Seattle Reign's 16 game unbeaten streak at the Village of Lisle-Benedictine University Sports Complex.

2015-Sebastian Giovinco has a nine-minute hat trick and David Villa scores twice as Toronto FC and New York City FC battle to a penalty-filled 4-4 draw  at Yankee Stadium.
