1971-Tommy Youlden scores three goals as the Dallas Tornado defeat Apollon of Greece 5-0 at Franklin Field in Dallas.

1975-Uri  Banhoffer's second hat trick in his last four games paces the Los Angeles Aztecs to a 5-1 win over the New York Cosmos before a sellout crowd of 12,176 at El Camino College Stadium.

1994-Two goals from Ilie Dumitrescu and one from Gheorghe Hagi help Romania pull off the upset of the World Cup, beating Argentina 3-2 in front of 90,469 at the Rose Bowl. Sweden tops Saudi Arabia 3-1 at the Cotton Bowl.

2000-Siri Mullinix registers her 10th shutout of the year, and Tiffeny Milbrett scores the only goal as the United States beats Brazil 1-0 to win the CONCACAF Gold Cup at Foxboro Stadium.

2010-Christine Sinclair scores the fastest goal in WPS history--in the first minute of the game--as FC Gold Pride blanks the Atlanta Beat 4-0  at KSU Soccer Stadium.

2007-Freddy Adu records a hat trick in a 6-1 USA trouncing of Poland in a Group B match of the FIFA Under-20 World Cup in Montreal.

2013-Dilly Duka has a goal and an assist as the Chicago Fire extend their unbeaten run to nine games across all competitions with a 3-2 win over the San Jose Earthquakes at Toyota Park.

2016-Jack Harrison has a goal and an assist as New York City FC wins its first Derby match over the New York Red Bulls, 2-0 at Yankee Stadium.
