1970-Former Baltimore Bays General Manager and NASL Director of Administration Clive Toye is named General Manager of the league's New York expansion team.
1976-The Miami Toros announce they are moving to Fort Lauderdale.
1978-After Pete Rose kicks out the first ball to inaugurate the first MISL game, Steve Zungul scores four goals to lead the New York Arrows to a 7-2 win over the Cincinnati Kids at the Nassau Coliseum.
1980-The Fort Lauderdale Strikers fire head coach Cor van der Hart and replace him with Eckhard Karutzun.
1976-Brian Buddle, Bob Lenarduzzi and Bob Bolitho score to give Canada a 3-0 win over the United States in a World Cup qualifying playoff. Canada advances to the final round of qualifying, while the U.S. is eliminated.
1982-The MISL says the financially beleaguered Phoenix Inferno are safe until January 1, but a new investor must be found for the team to continue.
1983-Andrew Parkinson scores in overtime to give the New York Cosmos a 9-8 win over the Chicago Sting at Madison Square Garden.
1984-Karl-Heinz Granitza scores four goals, including the game winner as the Chicago Sting extend their club record winning streak to seven games with a 7-5 win over the Cleveland Force in front of 12,374 at the Richfield Coliseum.
1985-Kia scores five goals to lead the Canton Invaders to a 10-3 rout of the Columbus Capitals in an American Indoor Soccer Association game at the Canton Memorial Civic Center.
1995-Eloy Salgado's hat trick leads the Chicago Power past the Detroit Rockers 18-9 at the New Haven Coliseum in New Haven, CT.
2008- Robert Warzycha is named Head coach of the Columbus Crew, taking over for Sigi Schmid who left the team to join the Seattle Sounders FC after winning the MLS Cup.
2015-The San Antonio Scorpions have announced that as a result of a sale of Toyota Field to the City of San Antonio and Bexar County, and a subsequent agreement with the San Antonio Spurs, the NASL team will cease operating, and the Spurs instead plan to operate a United Soccer League franchise starting in 2016, with the eventual hope of landing a Major League Soccer franchise.
2016- Former New York Red Bulls head coach Mike Petke is named coach of Real Monarchs SLC.
