1968-Pelé scores two goals to lead Santos to a 3-1 win over the Oakland Clippers in front of the largest crowd to see a North American Soccer League game, 29,162 at the Oakland Coliseum.

1969-Ilija Mitic scores three second half goals as the Dallas Tornado defeat the Baltimore Bays 6-2 at Cobb Stadium in Dallas.

1972- Dynamo Moscow closes out its U.S. tour with a 2-1 win over the New York Cosmos in front of 13,205.

1979-Leonardo Cuellar scores the winning goal with 1:10 remaining in the game to lift the San Diego Sockers to  2-1 win over the Tampa Bay Rowdies in the NASL Conference finals.

1981-Derek Spaulding, Karl-Heinz Granitza and Charlie Fajkus score to lead the short-handed Chicago Sting to a 3-2 win over the Seattle Sounders, to win their best of three playoff series 2-1.

1981-The New York Cosmos fall to Gremio, 3-1 at Giants Stadium as the Brazilian club closes out a tour of Europe and North and Central America with eight wins and a tie.

1981-Gordon Hill's overtime penalty kick lifts the Montreal Manic to a 2-1 win, eliminating the Los Angeles Aztecs from the NASL playoffs at the LA Coliseum

1982-Socrates scores the game winner as Corinthians defeats Atlante of Mexico 3-2 at the Los Angeles Coliseum before 15,812 fans.

1982-The Major Indoor Soccer League announces the Philadelphia Fever will take a year off to reorganize.

1984-The MISL admits four former NASL franchises, Chicago Sting, Minnesota Strikers, New York Cosmos and San Diego Sockers for the 1984-85 season.

1997 - The Arizona Sandsharks win their third straight game by a shootout, defeating the Anaheim Splash 5-4.

2000-Tony DiCicco is named Commissioner of the WUSA.

2013- Joao Plata scores a goal and adds two assists as Real Salt Lake pads their lead at the top of the MLS West with a 4-2 win over the Portland Timbers at Rio Tinto Stadium.

2014- Newcomer Ignacio Piatti scores both goals as the Montreal Impact stun  the Columbus Crew 2-0  at Stade Saputo.

2015-Crystal Dunn has two goals and an assist to lead the Washington Spirit to a 3-3 tie with the Portland Thorns FC at sold-out Providence Park.

2015-Bradley Wright-Phillips scores two goals and assists on a third as the New York Red Bulls rout DC United 3-0  at Red Bull Arena.
