1975-David Proctor scores 8:47 into overtime to give the Miami Toros a 2-1 playoff win over the Boston Minutemen at Nickerson Field.

1977-Ibrahim Silva scores two shootout attempts to give the Rochester Lancers a 1-0 playoff win over the Toronto Metros-Croatia at Hollander Stadium.

1977-Mal Roche scores both goals, including a penalty kick in double overtime, to give the Sacramento Spirit a 2-1 win over the Connecticut Yankees in an American Soccer League game.

1978-Maurice Whittle scores on the last shootout attempt to give the Fort Lauderdale Strikers a 4-3 playoff win over the Detroit Express at Lockhart Stadium.

1983-After losing the regulation game 3-1, the Pennsylvania Stoners defeat the Dallas Diamonds 1-0 to advance to the American Soccer League championship game.

1983-Godfrey Ingram scores twice for the Golden Bay Earthquakes, including the overtime game winner to beat the Chicago Sting 3-2 at Spartan Stadium.

1987-Kristine Lilly scores her first international goal in a 1-1 tie in China.

 1991-Donald Carter purchases the Major Indoor Soccer League's Dallas Sidekicks

1997-Marco Coria scores three goals and adds two assists in Monterrey LaRaza's 6-5 win over the Dallas Sidekicks.

 2005-The Chicago Fire tighten their hold on second place in the MLS East with a 2-1 win over the LA Galaxy at Soldier Field. John Thorrington scores the game-winner.

2008-The U.S. Men are eliminated from the Olympic Games after a shorthanded 2-1 loss to Nigeria in Beijing. The team is without suspended midfielders Freddy Adu and Michael Bradley, and loses defender Michael Orozco to a red card.

2010-The Kansas City Wizards sign Chivas Guadalajara and Mexico National Team forward Omar Bravo as a Designated Player.

2011-Joao Plata scores in the 77th minute to give Toronto FC their fourth win of the season, 1-0 over Real Salt Lake in front of 21,644 at BMO Field.

2012-The Los Angeles Galaxy claim the SuperClasico season series for the seventh time in eight years with a 4-0 rout of Chivas USA at the Home Depot Center. Landon Donovan notches a career-best four assists.

2014- Nadia Nadim scores the 89th minute, giving Sky Blue FC a dramatic 3-2 win over the Western New York Flash at Sahlen's Stadium. Sky Blue eliminates Western New York, which hosted last year's final, from playoff contention while earning its third consecutive victory to keep its own post-season ambitions alive.

2014- Andy Rose and Kenny Cooper each tally two goals as Seattle Sounders FC soundly defeat the Chicago Fire 6-0 at the Starfire Sports Complex in the semifinal of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.

2015-David Villa strikes in the 80th minute to snap a 1-1 tie and Kwadwo Poku adds an insurance tally eight minutes later as New York City FC stun Eastern Conference leader D.C. United, 3-1, at Yankee Stadium.
