1960-Valters Santos scores both goals as Bangu of Brazil wins the inaugural International Soccer League championship with a 2-0 decision of Kilmanock in front of 25,440 fans at the Polo Grounds.

1961-Dukla Prague sweeps the American Cup final series of the International Soccer League by blanking Everton 2-0 in the second game of the series in front of 18,737.

1964-Dukla Prague defeats Zaglebie 3-1 in the first of the two game playoff for the American Challenge Cup of the Internatonal Soccer League.

1977-Jim Redfern scores two goals for the Washington Diplomats as the New York Cosmos lose Pelé's last regular season game 2-1 before 31,283 at RFK Stadium. Pelé nets the Cosmos goal.

1980-Washington Diplomats midfielder Dragan Radovic records his league record third assist of the season in a 5-1 loss to the Minnesota Kicks at Metropolitan Stadium.

1982-The Pittsburgh Spirit defeat the Cleveland Force 7-2 in an outdoor exhibition match played in front of 1,220 fans at South High Stadium in Pittsburgh.

 1994-Goran Hunjak assists on six goals in a 12-10 Washington Warthogs win over the San Diego Sockers

1996-Tatu has two goals and three assists in the Dallas Sidekicks' 9-8 win over the Portland Pride.

2001-Liu Ailing becomes the first player in WUSA history to score three goals in a half, as the Philadelphia Charge set a record for most goals by a team in a 5-1 win over the Carolina Courage.

2008-Norway stuns the U.S. Women's National Team 2-0 in both teams' first game at the Beijing Olympic Games.

2008-Canada opens its first ever Olympic soccer campaign with a 2-1 win over Argentina before 23,201 at Tianjin Olympic Center Stadium

2011-Second half goals by Brian Mullan and Omar Cummings give the Colorado Rapids a 2-0 win over the Columbus Crew at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.

2011-David Villa and Keita score to give Barcelona their only win of the World Football Challenge, 2-0 over Club America in the event finale at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

2011-Marta scores two first-half goals to give the Western New York Flash a 2-0 win over the Atlanta Beat at Sahlen’s Stadium, moving them ahead of the Philadelphia Independence into sole possession of first place in the WPS.

2011-Seattle Sounders FC become the first MLS team to post a road win at Livestrong Sporting Park, scoring in the 90th minute and second minute of stoppage time to beat Sporting Kansas City 2-1.

2012-Alex Morgan’s header in the third minute of extratime stoppage lifts the U.S. to a 4-3 triumph over Canada and into the Olympic gold medal match against Japan at Wembley Stadium.

2014-Bradley Wright-Phillips and Landon Donovan handle the scoring as the MLS All-Stars  defeat defending Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich 2-1 at Providence Park in Portland, Ore.

2014-The Fort Lauderdale Strikers extend their unbeaten streak to three games with a scoreless draw against the man down Indy Eleven in front of 10,285 fans at Michael A. Carroll Stadium.

2016- Carli Lloyd scores the lone goal and goalkeeper Hope Solo stops everything sent her way as the top-ranked United States WNT survives a late onslaught by No. 3 France, 1-0, in Group G at the Rio Olympics.

2016-Indy Eleven stay undefeated at home in dramatic fashion, using a 92nd minute goal by midfielder Don Smart to defeat Ottawa Fury FC 1-0 in front of 7,760 spectators at IUPUI’s Carroll Stadium.

2016-Sebastian Giovinco scores two brilliant goals in the opening half-hour and adds a second-half penalty kick, while Jozy Altidore slots in a stoppage-time clincher as Toronto FC routs the New England Revolution 4-1 for their fifth straight home win at BMO Field.
