April 25,  
1920-"Rube" Potee and Lawrence Riley each score two goals as the Ben Millers advance to the finals of the National Challenge Cup by defeating the Packards of Detroit 4-2 at High School Field in St. Louis.

1926-Some 25,000 fans turn out to the Polo Grounds to see Hakoah of Vienna defeat a New York selection 4-0.

1968-Pepe Fernandez scores two goals to give the San Diego Toros a 2-0 win over the Baltimore Bays in front of 2,878 at Memorial Stadium.

1976-George Best scores his first NASL goal in the Los Angeles Aztecs 1-0 win over the Rochester Lancers in front of 7,236 at El Camino College Stadium.

1981-Juli Veee and Mike Stojanivic score as the San Diego Sockers beat their SoCal rivals the Los Angeles Aztecs for the seventh straight time, 2-0.

1982-The Pittsburgh Spirit defeat the New York Arrows 5-4, snapping the Arrows' 11-game winning streak.

1984-The Detroit Express announce they  want to drop out of the American Soccer League and join the Major Indoor Soccer League.

1998-Milwaukee goalie Victor Nogueira blanks Philadelphia in the first half, and the Wave rolls to a 2-1 series lead in the NPSL American Conference finals,  with a 12-3 win.

2001-Josh Wolff scores the only goal as the U.S. posts a 1-0 win over Costa Rica in a World Cup Qualifier at Arrowhead Stadium in  Kansas City.

2005-Fernando Clavijo records his first victory as coach of the Colorado Rapids as they blank the Columbus Crew, 2-0, at Invesco Field at Mile Stadium  in Denver.

2007-Kevin Hartman posts the 63rd shutout of his MLS career as the Kansas City Wizards defeat  Toronto FC 3-0 at Arrowhead Stadium.

2009-Brittany Klein has a goal and two assists and Megan Rapinoe adds a goal and an assist in the Chicago Red Stars 4-0 win over the Boston Breakers at Toyota Park.

2009-Six different players scored as Real Salt Lake rattles the New England Revolution 6-0 at Rio Tinto Stadium.

2010-Allison Falk, Lianne Sanderson and Amy Rodriguez all score  to give the Philadelphia Independence its first-ever win, 3-1 over the Washington Freedom in front of 2,906 hardy fans who brave cold and rain at West Chester University's John A. Farrell Stadium.

2010-Dwayne DeRosario scores a goal and assists on the other to lift Toronto FC to a 2-0 win over the Seattle Sounders FC at rainy BMO Field.

2012-Rookie Emiliano Bonfigli scores his first MLS goal in the 72nd minute to lift Real Salt Lake into a 1-1 tie with FC Dallas  at FC Dallas Stadium.

2015-Christen Press scores two goals in the first eight minutes, but Portland Thorns FC score  two second half goals to come from behind and earn a 2-2 draw with the Chicago Red Stars in front of 2,136 fans at Village of Lisle-Benedictine University Sports Complex.

2015-Columbus Crew SC scores on three of four shots before halftime on their way to a 4-1 win over the Philadelphia Union  at MAPFRE Stadium.

2015-The Fort Lauderdale Strikers get two goals from Jose Angulo and one from Marlon Freitas to defeat the Ottawa Fury FC 3-1  at TD Place Stadium.
