With their outstanding performances this season, both Christen Press of the Chicago Red Stars and Samantha Kerr of Sky Blue FC have moved up significantly on the list of All-Time Women's Pro Soccer Scoring leaders as compiled by the North American Soccer Guide 2017 (northamericansoccerguide.com).

With her league leading 15 goals this season, Kerr has gone from not having a place among the top 10 to being in a tie for fifth, with 41 goals. Press, who has nine goals for the season, has moved from ninth on the list to fourth with 42 career goals.  Orlando Pride's Marta, with 11 goals this season giving her 50 for her career, moved from fifth to third.

Abby Wambach, who retired after the 2014 season, is first on  the list with 70 goals. The Portland Storm's Christine Sinclair, who has five goals this season, is second on the list with 55 goals.

The All-Time scoring list was compiled and published by the North American Soccer Guide based on performances in three women's professional leagues, Women's United Soccer Association (2001-03), Women's Professional Soccer (2009-11) and National Women's Soccer League (2013-).
